What I love is........

What I love is, LIFE! Life is everchanging, everlasting, always a surprise, and it can be whatever you want it to be. The question is: are you strong enough and do you have enough drive to succeed in what you love, perservere over your adversity, and seize all your moments to create a joy filled utopia while walking this planet?
I know the answer to that question for all of you. It is a definite, for sure, YES! We all have it in us to get on that train, think of the Coor's light fun lovin' train from the from the commercials during sport's broadcasts, that will drop each one of us at our destination of choice and where we need to be at each moment of our life. It is nobody's elses fault but your own, if you get on the wrong train and end up at a stop that is not where you want to be.
The one and only thing that can stop you from loving life and creating beautiful memories is you! No one else. We are all victims at some point in our life. The ones that perservere take the word "victim" out of their thoughts and language. The ones who do not seize their mistakes, and the wrong doings that were done to them by others, pity themselves, and call themselves victims. Victims become paralyzed, and the only party they show up for in life is a pity party. I have been to that party, and I am here to tell you, that party is no fun. It is filled with anger, resentment, and revenge. There is no champagne over flowing, it is more like a fountain of blood, and that would be the blood of the ones that created all the poor victims in the room.
Guess what? I was a victim. I was a victim when my mother died when I was three, I was a victim when my father would be drunk and say the most horrible and untrue things to me from the age of seven all the way to the age of 35 (I am now 39), I was a victim when he would physically attack me after verbally attacking me. I was a victim time and time again my whole life. I played the role of victim better than most, and ended up penniless, depressed, angry, resentful, mean, and confrontational. The only people that didn't get my victim attitude was my children.
At the age of thirty five I decided my victimhood was getting me nowhere. One day, I literally stopped being a victim. Since that day, I have seized every moment and created great day's that I will always remember for the rest of my life. Every day is a great day. I can say that with 100% conviction. I wake up every day and thank God for the day ahead me. What I am really thankful for is a new chance to make the second part of my life mean something, count, and help others to not be a victim, and instead become an example to others around me.
Come on guys, of course I still have adversity, but I welcome the challenge with a smile on my face, and know deep in my heart this too I shall overcome. The last four years have been the best four years of my thirty nine years on this planet. I have learned so many lessons in life, all great ones. I would not change one second of my life, for I love where it got me. No path is perfect, no one is perfect, and if you expect perfection, you will always be disappointed. If you do the best you can do, you will be content. Don't do less than your best, you know what your best is, and enjoy the rest.

  1. Great review! Kudos to you for overcoming. I too am a survivor and I give all praise to God. The resilient and forgiving heart can persevere in times of trouble. You said it best when you were speaking of assuming responsibility for your own life. No one can control your feelings--you choose how you will react to each situation or obstacle that comes your way. I always say that life's trials can be either stumbling blocks or stepping stones. The choice is up to me.

Thank you for sharing--it sounds like you have made much progress thru the years. I have too!

Keep praying and believing. God answers prayers and some dreams really do come true!

We go from strength to strength as we go from struggle to struggle.

Take care and God bless. I'm off to my best friend's house for the weekend! ~Gigi
