Stars and Athletes are not Contracted to be Perfect

Michael Phelps bong smoking incident has brought out the cry for lynching once again, because Michael failed to live up to their standards. Give me a break!
My question is when an athlete is five years old and training every day for their sport to one day be an Olympian should they be told, "make a decision now,you will have to live a perfect life if you want to have the accolades that go along with your glory." Or perhaps a movie star that is waiting tables and living in a cramped studio apartment while going to auditions should be asked, "I know you are sacrificing now, do you want to stop going after your dream for when you get it you are a slave to the public?" This is ridiculous!
If that is the case then every person should be held to the same standards. I am sorry,but just because they make millions does not make them sinless or less human. Human beings make mistakes, period. They are humans. Is jealousy the reason for the outrage after a celebrity falls from one of our own perfect lives we are leading? Why are you so outraged and what gives you the right to be the judge and jury of every celebrity mishap? We don't have a right to be God. If you want their money and lifestyle, then get your butt out there and work for it, otherwise be quiet.
The old line "our children idolize them" is the fault of a parent. Children should have inspirational figures, first being their own parents. If you are doing a good job with your children they will idolize you first, then look elsewhere. Your children should have dreams, their own dreams, they should not want to follow the foot steps of anyone but themselves. I teach my children to create their own paths with their own footprints. If they want to be an actor, then their path to get their will not be the same path that Brad Pitt took, nor should it!
I always use these incidents when stars fall as a learning experience for my children. I do not know any athlete or celebrity that has not made a mistake. We all make mistakes, but celebrities don't always have the best judgement, simply because, they live in a warped world, and they are human, although they are treated like Gods. When we emulate anyone other than our one and only God, we will be disappointed. I tell my children that athletes, singers, and movie stars are just like us. They sin, because we all sin. It is not cool to do drugs, or any illegal activity, but how fair is it to ask human beings that have worked hard to get where they are to held up to standards that are intangible?
It is unfair and unjust. Make no mistake, the companies that endorse them and try to sell them off as noble and wholesome individuals know whom they are dealing with, but will sign them for one reason: MONEY! When the athlete or celebrity falls, the corporation drops them, and they hope they have already made millions on their gamble. That is what it is a gamble. They are gambling on how long it takes for the buying public to stop idolizing the corporations latest idol. Parent your kids, and stop worrying about the rest!
